By end of March, I was totally frustrated, after contacting each Pennsylvania Senator separately and receiving the same reply that I get from the INS from them too. Both offices told me that my petition was on hold due to company name change - they did not have any explanation as to why even after I-140 redo was approved, my petition was being held up. They gave their standard answer, wait for another "60 days". They did not give any credence to my explanations of other (similar) petitions being approved routinely....
So, I decided to contact the local Congressman\'s office. The lady there also got back to me in a week (1st week of April) and gave me the same answer, but she gave me a patient ear and found my story & explanations interesting. She told me that she will try to find out more details about my case & do whatever she could do and asked me to call her back in 3 weeks.
I called her on Tuesday and told her that my petition was still pending. She said that INS Vermont computers were down (a lot of us on this board know that too...) and that she will talk to somebody as soon as the computers came back up and asked me to call back the next day. When I called her, she simply told me that my petition has been approved, as of Tuesday, the 24th. I found out yesterday that the automated message also said the same thing. My wife\'s petition has been approved too on the same day and we are now waiting for the approval notices.
What a relief!!!!!
I would like to thank Mr. Rajiv Khanna who provides the infrastructure for this forum and all people who take the time & effort to post their details so that we as a community is more informed and up-to-date.
I will be around to answer any questions and shall also post our stamping experience in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania....
