Thank you, thank you, Jac2005!
I read your on-line status changed next day after approval and GC came in three weeks. My status didn't change yet, no welcome letter either, but I been waiting for much longer, what another month? :D

Update on my case progress

Interviewed and approved on 1/23/2006

Today my son got his welcome notice and my husband got approval of his I-130 (for unmarried child under 21of US citizen).
My son’s I-485 application status on-line changed twice after the interview. First time they informed us that his I-485 application was approved and notice sent and second –that the card was ordered.
His I-130 on-line status haven’t changed, still shows as in-process, even thought it approved already.

Now about me…. Nothing! No welcome letter, nothing. :( Today my LUD finally changed and I got e-mail with this bizarre message:
On February 1, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.
This is strange…since my I-485 already approved and I don’t have a clue why they keep on transferring my case back and forth like that.

Hi Jane!
Congratulations on all your achievements with USCIS. :)
Don't worry about your welcome letter. It'll come. But, do check with your local DO what's going on. This is CIS we're talking about... Anything is possible...
Here are just 2 bizarre examples that happened to my family:
- Back in 1997, while we (my husband, my kids and I) were waiting to get our welcome letters, we received an interview letter for our adjustment of status.
- After receiving a welcome letter, and then her green card, my daughter received the second welcome letter (the second green card did not follow).

Thank you, Anahit! :)
At this point I am not worried about anything anymore, just annoyed.
Jane...did I ever say that I am jealous of you???

Ha ha...just kidding. I am sure your welcome letter will follow. Don't worry a bit. USCIS is showing its true colors in your case :)

Jane, you have quite an "history" with the USCIS :p :D !! I know you'll get your welcome letter soon and your green card also. Maybe on Monday, who knows ?? ;) .

I don’t know, Ema, about Monday….
Today I got another e-mail:

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On February 3, 2006, your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received here for processing. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

I think those INS people can’t let me go that easily…. :p :p

:D :D :D They really don't want you out of their lives !!

Ema.

Yes, especially after all those enormous fees I paid them in total over the years.
So many applications I filed, so many receipts I still religiously keep. :o
Can you believe my very first paid EAD cost me only $75? They changed their fees like three or four times since I started the process. And they changed their own name twice: from INS to BCIS to USCIS and I am still me, patiently waiting… ;)

Oh My ! Oh My ! After all these years waiting for your green card, my four years of waiting seem ridiculous  .

Oh God Jane. You are like part of their history. I can see you have lived 'INS Life' as a part of your life. You know like we have different sessions in our life.

Congrats girl! It was time huh. What are you planning to do now?
Amishah sorry to hear that you get stuck on the FBI...it is amazing that with so much technology still that issue can't be solve in a timely manner. Hang in there :)
