Dear Immigrants:

It is a wonderful feeling to be done
with this excruciating GC process.

Special thanks to God (again), Rajiv Khanna,
and my hats off to those great volunteers,
and all my friends who read and post their
details as if they were paid to do so.

Here is my GC/PR timeline with status:

F1 -> PT -> H1(renewed) -> EAD(renewed) -> PR

non-RIR, EB2, proud Indian living in Northern Virginia

Started the process in late Dec 1998
PD Mar 30, 1999
RD Dec 27, 1999
ND Jan 13, 2000
EAC-00-075-XXXXX
FP - Mar 15, 2001
RFE issued (AVM) 04/25/2001
(W2 w/tax filing proof, paystubs for last month, employment
letter showing future need)
RFE received by lawyer 04/27/2001
RFE reply sent by lawyer 05/11/2001
RFE received by INS (AVM) 05/18/2001
AVM message changed to "180 days to process to 0 days" back and forth
AVM message finally remained "zero days to process" after that
until recently changed to "540 days to process"
AD 06/01/2001 (still message remains "540 days to process"
Lawyer Rec\'d the original copy 06/07/2001 evening
Stamped the passport on 06/08/2001 (received the courtesy copy)

(Stamping process ditto what Keralite explained on 06/08/2001 - only
a little earlier - came out at 9:10 AM)

Overall it took - almost 30 months
Talked with IIO 7-10 times - failed countless times
Checked AVM everyday atleast twice for the past 5 months
(Still the AVM does have changed - so please don\'t bother
with the stupid AVM - you may have already been approved.)

Lessons learned:
            * Have patience and faith.
            * Be happy for others happiness.
            * Getting GC is like escaping the barren desert to survive.
But, just don\'t survive anymore - live it to the fullest.

May All Our Dreams Come True. Thank you each and
everyone for giving hope by sharing your personal
information.

Sure, l will be around to answer your questions. :)

Not yet. We just received courtesy copies two hours ago. We need to get original ones from the lawyer first and then go for stamping next week.
