A long but smooth journey is over... :D

Interview Experience:
Interview was scheduled on January 11 at 9:35. Left home at 7:00 and
took 2 hours to reach downtown LA (can you beleive it is only 42 miles
from my home?). Then have to stand in security line for 1 hour and got
into the building at 10:00. When I reached the interview room, my lawyer
told me that officer has already called my name and will cal again at
10:15. Officer called again exactly at 10:15, my lawyer appologised for
being late but she said "I know the big lines outside...".
That was a sign that officer is nice. Then...
1. Officer took oath from me and my wife and asked us to sit down
2. Asked for passports and checked different stamps and visas
3. She specially looked for compliance of special registartion on my
passport
4. Asked for employment letter and kept original
5. Asked for W2 for last 3 years (checked original and kept copies)
6. Asked for tax returns for last 3 years and kept copies
7. Asked a few questions from page 3 of I-485
8. Asked for original birth certificate for both (me and wife)
9. Asked for original marriage certificate
10. Asked for employer's ability to pay and my lawyer handed over last
3 years public reports (my company has 35000+ employees)
11. Then I saw that she opened my file, took out copy of labor
certificate and started asking questions about what I do. She asked, directly
or in-directly, all the things mentioned on labor - even what I do on
daily basis.

And that was it. She told me that "I don't see anything that will stop
approving my case but that she cannot do it today. The reason is that
you are from one of the special registration countries and I have to run
a check to make sure that you complied with special registration
(although my passport has stamps in it). And secondly, after I'm done with
that query, I'll just have to confirm with my supervisor."
She didn't give
me any timeframe but assured me that she'll try to do both the things
very soon. I received the letter today and it has approval date of
January 11, which means she approved my case on the same day.

Officer was a very nice person, though very thorough.

Below are some other milestones.
1. Came to USA in November 1998 on L1
2. Filed labor in June 2000, got approved in August 2000
3. I wasn't married at the time and processing was very fast, so just
thought of grabbing a better option
4. Changed job in April 2001, labor filed in July 2001
5. Labor approved in July 2003 after NOF
6. I-140 filed in August 2003
7. I-485 filed in October 2003
8. got RFE on I-140 for EVL, W2 and Experience Letters, in October 2004
9. RFE replied in 1st week of November 2004
10. I-140 approved and I-485 transferred to local office in 2nd week of
November 2004
11. Interview letter received 1st week of December, interview on
January 11, 2005
12. I received approval letter on January 19.
13. Online message still says "case transferred for interview..."

Congratulations on your approval!

Could you please tell which EB category you were in and what was on the page 3 of I485?

Thanks.

How long to receive the green card in the mail?

After the interview approval, how long is the waiting time for the actual Green Card to be received in the mail? I heard from 7 to 8 months!
