Approved, a sad story!

I was laid off on Wednesday but heard the music-like words on Thursday : Your case was approved on Sep. 19.

I knew 3 months ago that I am going to be laid off this month but don't know the exact day. I have been checking the AVM almost every day and came back with the same depressing answer. I couldn't think, walk, eat, breathe as the judgement day is closer and closer. I am afraid of the RFEs, afraid of my wife's work permit, afraid of losing everything i am having now. Things got even worse when I broke my leg last month in an accident and could only work half time. I know the big ax is coming any day. I dare not collect unemployment if the approval doesn't come because i am afraid the INS will find out about my status. Last week's stagnation in the GC processing makes the whole situation even more devastating. I pray every day to God for his help.

Finally God answers my prayer. I heard the magic words again and again in the AVM, letting it wash out all the suffering I had in the last 3 months.

Man! It is over!

Congrats. We're all on edge. I can relate to that not being able to eat /
hyperventilation thing. It was a bit of a sickly sweet movie, but I like
the concept:

We have to pay our good fortune forward. Let's do something good
for people (even those we don't know).

Thank you!

I pray for everybody who is going through the same suffering. Good luck everyone.

May God bless you all.

i can't get on Rupnet. If you can, please update it for me.

Greaty-K and every one,

Thanks for all the good information. This site is one of the main reasons that I did not go insane.

I have no choice

You told me to take some time off. Well, I have no choice and have a longggggggg vacation ahead of me. The good thing is I can collect some unemployment benefits to feed my parents and wife once the GC is done.

Congratulations

Wish U luck...
Get well..and get a new Job...

U will get a job soon..
Dont worry.....

bad follows good and good follows bad....
so now U have had the bad,...it is time for good...

Re: I have no choice

youre funny..

I meant take some time off from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy with wife and parents.. if you can afford it, try taking a cruise or a trip to Jamaica or something.

P.S. watch out for that unemployment thing - right after the GC!! Please make sure it doesn't have an adverse effect on your permanent residency

:)

Thanks for your advice. I just took off the cast on my leg. Doctor said it would recover in 8 weeks.

By the way, the INS messed up my A#, so my EAD was invalid. i still haven't received the correct receipt notice. That is another reason why I am so worried about the RFE. I also changed my address. When I called IIO, I found out they had a different A# than the one on my EAD and AP.

Congratulations

Enjoy your happiest moments. Bad days wouldn't last forever. You will get the job, he way you got the approval.

Congratulations on your approval. I wish you a speedy recovery on your health issue and hopefully you will get job soon. Bad times does not last long. All the best.

Congrats!!!

BTW, do some HW before you take the unemployment
benefit as Lamborghini has pointed out. Not sure if it is
fine for a brand new GC holder to do so.

wish you get your new job with your leg recovery

What a say story you had! But everything your suffered from will be paid... your turning point is coming.

Congratulations!

All the best and hope things get better here on...

Also make sure you get passport stamping quickly to close the issue..a sigh of relief.

The bright side of it is that you finally got approved with no strings attached such as RFE etc.

Congratulations to you and your family
