Hi everyone,
I am relatively new to this website. I had applied for green card at the Nebraska office, then my case was transfered to the local office. About 8 months ago my case(I-485) was approved at my local office but they told me that the green card has to be printed at the nebraska service center.
I haven't recieved my GC yet. The online message still says that my case has been transfered to the local office for decision. I haven't recieved welcome letter or email either.
Is this normal for it to take so long? What can I do to speed up the process? Should I take my passport for stamp at the local office? What is the benefit of having the temp green card stamp in my passport if I am not planning to leave the country? Thanks everyone in advance.

Are you sure it was approved? How do you know it was approved? You don't have the approval notice or even an email. Passing the interview at the local office doesn't mean it's approved yet. It's probably sitting somewhere collecting dust somewhere, with a note on it "recommended for approval", but nobody has taken further steps with it. You need an Infopass appointment to look into it.

Without the card or a stamp in your passport, you have no solid proof that you are a legal resident. And you may have problems if you get a new job.

--------------At the time of Interview if the officer informed you that you are approved Did the officer gave you a white form and you signed on the form and officer took your index fingerprint on form??

------------after the Interview the file goes back to Service center (it takes 10-15 days) then the Box with files is opned at service center and then it goes for Card production unit. It should take around 1 month to get the Card

What can I do to speed up the process?
----Take infopass and go to local office and find out where is your file sitting, inform that you had interview on date... if you don’t get answer at Window then ask for supervisor
Should I take my passport for stamp at the local office?
------if you have I-485 approval notice then go to local office and get your passport stamped
What is the benefit of having the temp green card stamp in my passport if I am not planning to leave the country?
----------------------You are GC holder if you have stamp in passport
Thanks everyone in advance.
