Approved 10/16/03 - Going to India - Urgent - Need advise

Received an email from USCIS - approval mail.
My problem is i leaving for india on 25th december.I talked to my lawyer , she told me that i can not leave the country without stamping. I am not sure when i am going to get the approval notice as they sent it today only.
I have alrady made infopass appointment for Wednesday.
Is it okay to use Email from USCIS instead of actual approval notice?
Anybody has similar kind of experience.

FYI : I will be goin to Philadelphia Office.

Your lawyer is correct. This is not worth taking a risk. Postpone the trip if stamping is not done. If you have infopass then you can get stamped based on approval mail + air tickets.

MD, what abt walkins in this case, ihave exact same issue, can i walkin to office show they approval email, print of online status and request them for stamping?
