Approvals might be based on PD not RD/ND

My theory is that processing is done based on Priority dates and not the 485 RD or NDs.

My observation is based on looking at these forums for last year and a number of my friends approvals.

I could be totally wrong.

I do not have a PD.PD field is blank in my case and I know many whose is blank.
how does your theory explain this.

what is priority date

on 485 receipt, the priority date section is empty... how do i know what's my priority date? Thanks...

Hi Taijiren,

In the past there used to Priority date for the availability of Visa number(I am not sure). But now all the EB cases are current so I believe PD does not make any sense so I guess they dont even give one.

Above is just my understanding.

By Priority Date I meant the date on which your labour Certification was approved.

This might be relevant only for people who filed in 7/8/9 of 2001.
I remember PD's became current around 7/2001.
So a lot of people could not apply for 485 till 7/8 2001 because they were not current.

eg. Jacks' PD is 6/2000 and Jill's PD is 12/2000

Both applied for 485 in 7/2001. But since Jack's PD is earlier, his 485 was processed before Jills.

Just trying to find some logic in this crazy process.
