Approval for CSC->NSC Case ONLY

Thanks pklam... Why don't u open and SR? Sometime u need to get your fileout of blackhole and it will move :)

congrats jayshreeram & Jack144!! another friend of mine from chicago got approval mail today. His PD is May 2005 and RD for I140/I485 is Sept 2005. Strange are the workings of USCIS.
No LUD's for me yet. Guess it is still waiting to be assigned to an officer.

Suresh, you were right, I did get the cards in the mail yesterday. Here is the timeline and my details are in the signature...
7/24: welcome notice mailed email
7/26: welcome notice received
7/28: approval notice sent email
7/30: approval notice with cards received

Wishing everyone here who are waiting the very best.

Btw this is my theory: NSC has assigned visa numbers to a large no. of applications on July 2nd 2007. Why do I say this: because everyone in this thread who got actual cards have noticed that their "residence since" date is 07/02/2007. So I feel a lot more approvals are still to come as NSC's tragically slow system updates it. I took an infopass appointment for the first time on 7/23/07 and next day got the approval email, so my theory kind of makes sense that they pulled the file, saw that visa number was already preassigned since all checks were cleared, IO reviewed it and approved it right away....

Cogratulations Maverick. Just keep patience. You will be getting the all the mail at one time with cards too. It seems USCIS Is working but not in a systematic way in some cases. Sure you will getting one soon.
Please post your case details on signature too once you final get the cards.
Have a wonderful day.
Suresh

Congrats!! .

You have a theory -- But my theory is (I maybe wrong): that they never exhausted the 60,000 visas nor pre assigned them. However:

- DOL made all the dates Current for July with a good intention of not wasting the visas
- CIS released Oh! what about all the zillions of new applicants!! How can we handle them....already we have soooo much backlog
- CIS counted the backlog to be more than 60K
- CIS requested DOS to make them unavailable
- July 2nd Fiasco
- Now many of the 60,000 visa that are not used are being used for approving the cases. Many are getting the 07/02 date to make things "politically correct"

I don't think they pulled out your case just because of info pass unless it is a really super old case. But it was a coincidence. Why? Cause info pass IOs and other IO pull the information just based on the info in their system. Not using the physical file. Also approval process sould take atleast 5-7 days.

BTW, did you receive approval and welcome notice by post? I only received the welcome notice and cards by mail and no approval notice (or is it the notice on whic the cards are attached). Although, I received an email saying approval notice mailed. So you get two 797s --one for approval and one for welcome? or is it just one 797 for welcome and approval is a statment somthing like when you get a new credit card?

sorry for the confusion if any, the approval notice is not really a 797 notice, it is simply that piece of paper which says ur GC is approved and the cards are attached to it..like a new credit card...so u r good there..with the welcome notice, approval notice paper and the actual card..

Ur theory could be right on, I am very sure we will see approvals all through till Oct 2007, even if Aug bulletin says all categories unavailable...the very fact that they are approving based on RDs too shows that they are trying to clear off the backlog, especially cases filed before Sep 30th 2005!

My infopass appointment and next day approval could very well be a coincidence... who knows?

did you have a sequence of LUDs before approval?

Check list- GC card, Welcome notice,Approval notice ...

Hi guys,
Just wondering if all of these should be in our hand or just GC is enough:
1. Physical card
2. Welcome notice
3. Approval notice

update!!

I called up NSC again and this time i was told that my application is undergoing internal checks. When i aksed what it means she says "regular internal checks" and does not know how long it would take.
I guess i'll have to wait until OCT..

Any updates!!

This Thread has been dead for more than 10 days now. Any??? For me, i got a letter from USCIS saying that my approval has been delayed as the background checks are not complete. i've no idea what this background check comprise of??? I thought the biggest check was the name check and once it is over, it should be through but it has proved wrong in my case.

Everyone from CSC -> NSC,

I dont know how you guys feel but the more I read this forum the last a couple of days, the more depressed I get. It's great that all the people are getting approved, but we have NOT A SINGLE transferred case approved. I was also told by my lawyer and congressperson they are supposed to go by PD, but that's apparently not the case. It's unfair enough our labor took so long in the old system. I also thought they should give priority to EB1 and EB2 over EB3 cases (isn't that the whole reason why we are classified in those cateogories in the first place?). By the time all the directly filed and EB3 cases are done, there will be no visa left for us transferred EB1 and EB2 cases.

I feel like I am going through this dark tunnel. Whenever I see a hint of light in front, someone else cuts in front and pushes me out of the way.

I am giving up my hope. Endless = hopeless. :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Don't give up hope...mine was a transfer case CSC to NSC
EB 2 india got card prod ordered aug 14th 07...you are probably next..good luck!

Update!!

Just wanted to give everyone of you an update. I finally got my card production ordered email this morning. Atlast, the journey is over. I'm very thankful to Rajesh khanna and everyone in this forum for their support.
