I am just overcome with joy at the moment.... Finally the case status has this to say ....

Asylum interview: Sep 97
Recommended Approval: Nov 97
Asylum Granted : Dec 97
I-485 Applied : Mar 99
FP: April 03
RFE : Sent to wrong Address July 03
RFE finally received : Aug 03
RFE submitted : SEP 03
Approval : Nov 03

Rasylee, Congratulations man, so what's the deal with the FY04? are they issuing approval from last year still or this is for FY04?

In my opinion they are using visa for fiscal year 2004, my understanding is that those visas that are not utilized for fiscal year 2003 are wasted. Everything from Sep 30th onwards is considered fiscal year 2004 so that is why my assumption is that the new approvals granted now will be using the visa numbers from 2004.

When I receive my approval letter and go for stamping etc. then I can ask this question to the officer processing me and I will share the answer in the forum here...

I appreciate that Rasylee, yeah it's weird because from what I understood from previous posts like Gilbert's and others, president Bush hasn't signed the 10 000 visa for FY04 yet.

10,000 asylee visas were approved by President Bush on 21st October if I am not mistaken.....

If your questions implies regarding sponsoring my wife then I have not made the decision yet. As sponsoring on the base of premant residence will mean probably a wait of about 6 or so year....will make the decision in next few weeks..
