According to the BCIS website, my I-485 was approved on 9/8/2003, just few days after FP expiration.
I checked the website at 6 pm yesterday but the case was not approved. When I checked it again at 11 pm, the case was approved. It means the website is probably updated at night, not during the day.
My wife, dependent applicant, got a RFE in June 2003. I did not receive any RFE, but they held both appplications to be approved on the same date.
I have been a silent observer of this forum for the last few months. I learned more from your free advices in this very helpfull forum than from my highly paid company lawyer.
Thank all of you a lot. Good luck to all who have been long waiting for their approval dates.

Evidence for not subject to the J-1 two-year foreign residence requirement
RFE received by BCIS: 8/5/2003
