Desi,

Lets forget about these two cases....
I think as rockville said in other thread. After 140 is approved, the case number is assigned with in three weeks. Once the case number is assigned I dont think those cases will be effected by retro.

Hope for the best

I do not remember when Rockville said that, but even if he said that we were still not sure. But the new approvals brings a lot of hope.

Hope we all get approved soon.

apart from msomani ..i clearly remember one more guy who has talked to immigration officer to get the same info...retrogression is not going to affect most EB3 cases no matter what the PD is.. per my lawyer till april chances of approval are good as no one knows.. who when where and what is left..

case # assigment is done in 3 weeks at NVC does not mean a VISA is granted..per dastish VISA # is picked up from a pool and historically the number of approval is always less then number of VISA available..

I am telling with experience that not always the rule you mentioned above is right. There are very very rare cases whose case # doen't correspond to the date.
Not talking w.r.t. this guy.

Hi,
I think Goku is right.

As far as know,
EAC/WAC etc- Service Center Code
03/04 - USCIS year ( ex: if Oct 1, 2003 at VSC- EAC-04 ( not 03)
111/222 - working day in a year..starting from 1st Oct.
xxxxx- is the case number.

I believe a it's computer generated number..

Brij,

I have filed my 485 in dec 03 and my EAC# is 04xxxx. I'm pretty sure that the first 5 digits of EAC# will match your ND.

Clarification on EAC

The case number is EAC04...... . I am sorry if I caused any confusion. It was a typo of me when I deleted the number after I copy/pasted it. Yes I have been a silent visitor of this forum.

Good Luck to everybody

Saale negative insano....yeh nahin soch sakte ki this is a ray of hope....hamesha negative sochoge ki 2004 mein approve ho gaya hoga aur email abhi aaya hai....Indian postal service hai kya jo mail itne dino baad aayega....Saale tum jaise negative log to apni BIWI ko bhi BEHEN ki nazar se dekhte ho...

Congrats Mazumdar sahib....enjoy....bas thoda online message mein se padh kar bata do ki pehle sentence kya on....THIS CASE WAS APPROVED ON ??????? Date kya hai

Shakti Kapoor: Remember, in the other thread, http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=157438
when I said that retrogression has nothing to do with already filed by 31st December 2004, nobody considered it even as a possibility. But the fact of the matter is, all big corporate lawyers were pushing to file applications before the onset of 2005 because it is filing that matters in retrogression not the process. I am not even EB3 but trying to bring some hope for EB3 guys :)

Anyway I wish all good luck

Intresting response from Murty: I think this relates to this thread!

If my understanding is wrong, please excuse me. I do not like to in bad mouth!!!!

Chat : January 03, 2005

Chat User : Starting from January 01, 2005, are service centers going to follow cut-off dates as their processing dates for processing I-485s? Thanks for your excellent service.

Attorney Murthy : The USCIS has not stated if they will follow any cut-off dates in processing I-485s. We know that, previously, when the priority dates (or PDs) were backlogged, only CSC was not processing those I-485s with backlogged dates when the visa numbers were not current. The other service centers were previously processing the cases and sending out the approval letter with the note that the person could get the PP stamped when the PD became current. The USCIS has not made a policy decision on what they plan to do this time around

MY LUD changed today for I-485. (01/12/2005)
Status message did not change.
EB3 with PD is Jan/2002

They are still looking at PD>Jan2002 cases... right? I hope so.

Thanks
