Appointment Letter

They U.S. embassy told me 2 weeks ago that they had mailed Packet 4 to 2 addresses already. I haven\'t received it at either place, as of yet. So, I asked my father to pick up packet 4 for me from the U.S. Embassy. He did so, but what he got did not have an appointment letter. I just received a general package. Is it true that they do not give out more than 2 appointment letters? Can my father not get another appointment letter from them?
Please advise if anyone knows about this?

Thank you,
Sonu

Sonu - I believe the first page with name and other info

written on the right top corner in Pen is the appointment letter, and there is no formal letter in your name. Atleast that is what I got when someone went to pick up the packet for me.
Could someone else confirm this too ?

You need the appointment letter...

You absolutely must have the appointment letter.

You need to submit a copy of the letter during the medical examination.

And you need the letter to enter the consulate. The letter is taken from you when you pay the Visa Application Fees.

Many times, the Packet 4 and appointment letter does not reach US addresses.

Explain to the consulate that you have not received the letter, and they should issue you a duplicate.

Good Luck...

AAAK_2001 - Is it a real letter or the first page of the Pkt 4

with your case information hand-written on it ?

Letter

In my case, the consulate gave a re-print of the original letter (with "Duplicate" hand written on the top)...

The letter included the case number and our names. It was addressed to my attorney in the US.

Our CP interview was at the Mumbai consulate in December 2001... Don\'t know if they have changed somethings since then...

Good Luck.
