Applying too early for extension is a problem?

Parents in B2, They landed here in May 1st week, got 6months on I94, they have 10years multiple entry visa and allowed to stay till Nov 1st week.

We would like to apply for 3 months extension so that they can attend xmas and new year. Is it too early to apply for extension?

What happens if we apply now, and the extension get denied, will that affect the stay till Nov 1st week(which they have in the current I94)?

dont apply too early what real justification you can give for that. check out the processing time and apply accordingly
