Hi All,

I am Planning to apply for us citizenship. But, i would like to know what would be the impact if i apply for us citizenship and changed my address to some other location in the same state or different state. How long does it take to get citizenship if apply in Georgia?. Can you pl advise. Appreciate your help.

If you change your address during the process you can expect a delay of up to 3 months to allow for the transfer of case file to the new jurisdiction.
Check the Atlanta thread to get a feel for current processing times.

Let me answer the easy one first. It seems Atlanta Georgia office is processing applications in around 5 months.

Moving during the process under the same district office shouldn't be a problem, except for the potential of lost mail. Moving outside of your district office would mean delays while your file gets sent to the correct office. Of course it all depends at what stage you are during the process. It's hard to answer. It is a vague question, and the answer has to be necessarily vague ;)

If possible don't move during the process, but if you need to move it is better if you move inside the same district office area. You would need to notify USCIS about your change of address and hope that they do things properly.
