Good day everybody, My name is Jeff Im very anxious about my application for US citizenship. I'm thinking about applying now for US citizenship so that I can bring my wife and daughter here with me faster cause i already send my petition for them as a Permanent resident. I red that you can be out 6 mos and less than a year and still be eligible. I know I met the requirement for 30 months physically present here.

Ive been out of the US:
-June 12, 2006-June 2,2007 (358 days)
-May 11, 2008-Sep 6, 2008 (104 days)
-Nov 9, 2009-Dec 6, 2009 (28 days)
-Dec 31, 2010-Jan 30, 2011 (31 days)

So my question is, Can I send my application now? Am I eligible? or are they gonna deny my application?
I'm really confious and in need of help. thank you in advance.

You were out for 358 days at a stretch. That is big and breaks your continuous residence requirement unless you can prove otherwise.
#1. What was the reason for the absence? Did a US company or military send you?
#2. Did you maintain property (rental/mortgage), insurance, utilities during your absence?
#3. You already said your wife/kid are outside so I will not ask about having family back in US. Unless you were a minor (or close to minor), parents and siblings do not count the same as spouse/kids.
#4. Also, when did you get your green card? Can you provide the 'resident since' date?

Actually, you can make use of the 4 year 1 day rule even if you broke continuous residence. This allows you to file 4 years and 1 day after you return from such long trip. That means you are "almost" eligible now. However, this still requires you to have established residency way before this long trip ... if you got GC and then just left US on this first trip, it could be a problem.

Thank you for your response. Im a resident since 2003.. i went back to my country to finish schooling thats why im not here jun 06-jun 07.. I have a re-entry permit for 2004-2006 then I did not renew, I just went back to the US for a month MAY-JUN 2006.. I dont have any property to maintain that year cause I was living with my parents, is that gonna be a big issue?

If you mail your N-400 on Monday June 6th, you will have waited long enough with regard to continuous residence.
