I'm from NJ...I got married in 2000 then I went for my 1st interview in 2001 got my temp 2Y green card. In 2005 I went for a 2nd interview my wife and we explained to the officer that she is in the process to the divorce and the officer approved my case….I received my 10Y green card in August 2005. Can I apply for the citizenship next year? Can I start the application(s) in January or I have to wait until August?
Will I have any issue because of our divorce?

Thanks!!!

Five years from the day you got your conditional residency status is fine

You became eligible to apply for citizenship in 2006 (five years after your 2-year card was granted).

Even tho I got a divorce in 2005? Will I have any issue because of the divorce?

Thanks

The divorce would be an issue if you were applying for citizenship based on 3 years of marriage to a US citizen. But you have a green card long enough to apply under the regular 5-year rule, which is independent of your marriage status.
