Applying for SSN after TN visa

HI,

I got my first stamping for TN visa and now I need to get my SSN number.
Currently the work is remote so will be working from Canada, Can I go and apply for SSN with mailing address to Canada and come back to Canada?
Or Do I need to stay there till I get my SSN and come back?

You might have to get SSN card mailed to US address. You can call the SSN office to confirm though.

SSN takes a few days/weeks. They mail it to you.

When I applied SSN, I applied in Buffalo, NY - then the SSN arrived at my mailing address in Toronto few week after. You can apply in any social security office and provide a mailing address, it will be mailed there, there is no rule that you have to apply at the address where your office is located
