applying for spouse GC from different addresses

i am a US citizen and i will be filing for my husbands GC this month. me and my husband have been married for 8 months and we wont move in together until a few more months; after a wedding reception overseas. we currently live separately but will be together by the time of the interview. so now my concern is that when we file for his GC while we r living apart, is there a chance that the official looking at the application might just disregard the whole thing?? we are planning on explaining them our situation in the interview but what if the application is rejected even before that?

also the only reason we are applying before we start living together is because he needs a travel document to go abroad!!

kindly respond to my question.
 
If he is outside the US, no eyebrow will be raised. Most applications start off when the couple is apart.

he has H1-B status and not the visa. and the reason we are filing the documents now is because he needs a travel document to travel outside of the country.
 
In that case apply now and be ready to defend if questioned. For a few months apart, I see no deal breaker.

my concern is if there is a chance that they might reject or delay the application even before the interview?

Then you could have big problems if you aren't already living together for at least a couple of months by the time of the interview. Living apart for nearly a year while being married, and then suddenly moving together a month or less before the interview, will look very bad.

I suppose the "travel document" you are referring to is Advance Parole? It can take 2-3 months to obtain that. You may get interviewed before you get it.

I think he should try to get the H1B stamped at the consulate, rather than applying for the GC before you are living together.
