Applying for lottery create problems later?

Hello All,
I am an F-1 student currently on OPT working for a company in the US. I'm planning to apply for the green card lottery this year but was wondering if applying for it will affect anything(visa applications and such) in the future? My company is going to apply for an H-1b visa for me next year and I plan to go to my home country, have it stamped in my passport. Would the visa officer be concerned if at all I did apply for the GC lottery? or would he/she
not care? The reason I ask is the visa officer usually needs to be convinced that you will only work temporarily??

I am an Indian citizen but was born in the UAE. Anybody here like me applied for the GC lottery??

Thanks in advance!
Chris

In general, applying for lottery won't affect your ability to get visa.. Especially when it comes to H1 visa stamping(not F1 stamp), DV program has no effect on your H1 stamping.

You have nothing to fear. I have been applying for the DV lottery before I ever applied for H1B. My H1B was approved and I've been playing the lottery since I came to the US.

H2b

I WIN this year on the green card lottery but I was wondering if applying for H2B visa, will I have a problem to get H2B visa?
Interview for H2B visa is in april, and my number for green card is high 21***.This number MAYBE will be current in may,BUT I M NOT SURE.
When my embassy have a reference of my green card?I need H2B visa because I won t to go in USA and my chance for green card is not certain.
Thanks

In general, H2B is not dual intent and it is possible to cause problems with visa stamping or extension if one applied immigrant visa. Below in red is the case for employment based petition, however, it should be applicable to whoever showed immigration intent in any way(including immigration visa applicant through DV).

8 CFR 214(h) (16) (ii)

(16) Effect of approval of a permanent labor certification or filing of a preference petition on H classification- -

(i) H- 1B or H-1C classification . The approval of a permanent labor certification or the filing of a preference petition for an alien shall not be a basis for denying an H-1C or H-1B petition or a request to extend such a petition, or the alien's admission, change of status, or extension of stay. The alien may legitimately come to the United States for a temporary period as an H-1C or H-1B nonimmigrant and depart voluntarily at the end of his or her authorized stay and, at the same time, lawfully seek to become a permanent resident of the United States. (Revised 6/11/01; 66 FR 31107 ) (Paragraph (h)(16)(i) revised effective 7/1/99; 64 FR 29208 )

(ii) H-2A, H-2B, and H-3 classification. The approval of a permanent labor certification, or the filing of a preference petition for an alien currently employed by or in a training position with the same petitioner, shall be a reason, by itself, to deny the alien's extension of stay.

When

When does my embassy have information that I win on green card lottery?
when mu number become current or earlier?
Thanks very much
happy thanksgiving day

Embassy can have your info anytime if they wanted.. Embassy is under DOS which run DV program.. They are under the same umbrella.

Denied H2 won't affect GC process, so why not try H2 first.

Thanks

I try to get my H2B visa in april not earlier,I Can t ,but I worry because maybe they have my information of winning ...Last year I have H2B visa and I m back from USA timely. If my number become current on april or may , H2B visa is not important to me.
Do I have a chance with number EU 21***?
