I have my OPT expiring on June 14th, 2003. Considering the 60 days grace period, If I apply for H1-B say around August 1, 2004 . Would that be legal to do, logically I am not on OPT, but the reason I am interested in doing that is to borrow some time from June to Oct. 2004 by applying for regular processing so that I can avoid 3-4 months gap between June to Oct. 2004 which may or may not put me on illegal status.
