Applying for GC from 2 different states

Currently I'm on a H1 visa, working for a company in NJ. I'm in the process of filing my GC from this company. As you all know that it may take atleast couple of years to get to I-485 stage in states like NJ/NY. So, I'm wondering if there is any possibility to apply for GC from a different company in a different state at the same time. Please take a look at my questions below and give me your valuable suggestions. I'd appreciate it.

1. First of all, is it possible to apply for GC from 2 different states and 2 different companies at the same time?
2. If its possible, are there any legal issues that I need to be aware of while applying for GC?

------ No problems, 10 employers can file LC for you if you find such employers to do it
