Applying for EAD ..

Folks ,

Can I apply for EAD's both for me and my Wife all by myself ??

My Specific questions are

1. Can I do it all by myself ??
2. Do I need to have the receipt number of the 485 form that was filed with the BCIS .

Any help would be really appreciated ,
