I came to USA with my husband in February 2007 as Permanent Residents under IR5 category. But our minor son aged 19(now 20) years could not be brought here along with me as we were under IR5 category. However, he reached here in January 2007 under F1 category and he is undergoing full time study as an undergraduate student. After my arrival I filed I-130 for my son and it is already received by the INS.

Is it possible that i can file for my son to get an EAD so that he can work offcampus? a similar case was there in which a lady who is a permanent resident filed for her daughter and she got the EAD pretty soon. But is that possible?

I await anybody in the forum to guide us in the matter.

As F-1 student he can't work off campus except for OPT/CPT (internships during his studies and for one year after he completed the degree to get work experience). He will not be able to get an EAD through your GC application until his priority date is current. Since you are not a citizen, the wait is very long (5-10 years). Until then he cannot get an EAD through you.

Ditto what is said above. As an F-1 student, the only work that can be done is 20 hours on campus, therefore you cannot get an EAD for off campus.
