Applying for citizenship

Hello,

First of all, my apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum, feel free to move this post if needed.

I married my wife (US citizen) about 8 years ago, and obviously have been a permanent resident for several years now. I have always been interested in becoming a citizen, but since I am a busy guy, I never made it a high priority. This is something I want to change, so I want to start this process.

Unfortunately, it has been years since I dealt with any of this, so I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what to do, or point me in the right direction. I checked the FAQ, but I didn't see what I was looking for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

PS: If anyone knows of a group in the Central NY area which is dedicated to this kind of stuff, please let me know, thanks!

This helps out a lot, thank you for taking the time to post your response! I guess I better hurry, I didn't realize the fees were going to be that high.

Ok, I haven't read all the info yet, but I am confused about the AR-11 form. Why would I need to submit it, if I didn't move?

Read the information.

If you have not changed address since the addresses you gave on the I-130 and I-485. Then you probably do not need to. I just skim-ed through some of the information and they said you need to file that AR-11 before you do anything else.

Do your homework :) and determine what you need to do.

Ok, just making sure that it wasn't some secret ritual that is required. I will check all the info to be sure if I have to file this or not. Before I dive into this stuff, I have one more question. If I am already finger printed, I assume I still have to do this again? If the answer is somewhere in the documentation, you can ignore this question ;) Thanks

They ain't going to believe your fingers are the same as they were few years ago. Yes, you will have to finger print as part of Naturalization process.:D
