Applying for Citizenship (N400) after 4 years, 9 months (and counting...)

On the N400 instructions it is mentioned a GC holder can file for citizenship (N400) 3 months prior to completing the 5 year residency. However on the N400 itself (not the instructions) there is no mentions of that... So I have a couple of really dumb questions

[1] Part 2: Should I select the "have been a LPR of the US for the last five years" or "other" (basically saying I've been a LPR for 4 yrs, 9 mo..).

[2] Part 7. Questions A/B: When asked how many trips I took in the past 5 years (and for how many days), should I include the period prior to getting the GC? Technically it's within the 5 years... (it's not going to make a major change in terms of eligibility, just not going to be consistent with the list of trips they ask to list in question C ).

Any thoughts?

I would be inclined to tick the "5 year" box since that is the category you are applying under. Similarly, I would probably only count trips since the issue date of the GC because that is when the 5yr period starts.

Applying 90 days early is (I believe) offered as an offset against expected USCIS processing delays.
