applying for asylum!

My bro is applying for asylum without a lawyer. he came legally with visa and currently has 6 months visa.

I guess he first tries without a lawyer for the initial asylum interview and if rejected by the asylum officer and refers his case to a Judge, then he will be looking for a lawyer's help as he maybe grilled by the government lawyer if he goes without a lawyer on his side.

he has good stories of past and future persecution and has supporting letters from some local organizations.


U have any ideas or info or suggestions for my brother?

its better to start with a lawyer from the get go
get a lawyer from Legal aid or try the international Institute if you cant afford one
