Applying for AOS from the UK after previously overstaying my VISA?

I was married to my first wife in 98, Applied for AOS but split up and never made it to my first interview.

Remarried again in 2009 to my new wife after having been Out of status for the last several years.

My wife and I are moving the UK to live which, I am to understand, that if I try to re-enter the US, immigration would ban me for 10yrs due to overstaying my B1B2 visa which expired in 2007.

We would like the option to come back so I'm trying to get an understanding of what would happen if I tried to re-enter the US.

QUESTION's:
1, Can I re-apply for AOS while in england?
2, Would immigration enforce the 10 yr ban if I tried to re-enter since I am now married to a Citizen? and what about after I have started the AOS?

Thanks in advance for any replies,

A1: No
A2: Yes, you will be banned the moment you leave the US

1. AOS is only if you are in the US. Consular processing is if you are outside the US. But because of the 10-year ban, you have a very long wait before you will be eligible for CP.

2. If you attempt to reenter the US during the 10 years, they are likely to restart the 10 years or impose a permanent ban. It doesn't matter that you're married to a US citizen.
