Applying at LA passport agency

What proof is generally required to apply at the LA passport agency? I know that if you have the ticket to travel in the next 2 weeks is ok. But what if youre only planning to apply for a visa in the next 2 weeks but dont intend to travel in the next 2 weeks?
Also, how long does it normally take to get from LA passport agency versus normal expedited process. Thanks in advance.

i read from the state.gov website that a person can apply the passport in the passport agency if s/he needs travel within 2 weeks or need visa. however, not sure if they would need to see the requirement of the travel within 2 weeks too. it seem like they think if you need visa within 2 weeks for travel, then you should have your ticket to travel within next 2 weeks or so.

usually it is the same day for the passport agency process, and 2 weeks or so for the expedited process
