Hi all
I am a French citizen, working as a post doctoral fellow within a University. I am on a J1 visa, with NO obligation to come home for 2 years after it expires. My J1 visa will expire on June 2002 (it was issued for 3 years).
My questions are:
- can I apply directly for a permanent visa like EB1 or EB2? (should I apply for a H1B before?)
- are EB2 and EB1 visa equivalent to the green card? (if so, why different names?)
- do I need to take an attorney for applying for EB1 or EB2 or would a kit be enough?
- finally, where would yu buy a kit for applying?
Any help on any question would be GREATLY appreciated
