Apply for TN when my H1B is pending?

I am currently working with TN. My current employer filed H1B (change of status) for me and I get selected this year. Now it is pending and the case is still shown as received. Now I am changing job. I decide to apply for TN because I don't know when my H1B will be approved. Assuming I am willing to give up my H1B, would there be any problems that my future employer apply TN for me while my H1B at my current employer is still pending? What happened if my TN gets approved before or after my H1B is approved? Do I need to take any actions in these two situations (eg. Withdraw my H1B)?

If my TN approved first, then my H1B approved after that, would my H1B status override my TN status?
 
No problem
If they are fir the same job just make sure your employer has you on the correct status in their I-9 file after each approval
