Applied H1 from India and came to US on H4 before approval

Hi,

I applied for H1 visa from india. Later in may i came to US on H4 visa. I have got approval for my H1.

When can i start working here?
Do i need to get visa stamping done.
Can i get my stamping process transfer here to US without going to Canada or India.

--------------------one can get stamping in Canada (NOT in US) but if stamping gets rejected in Canada be ready to go to your home country Directly from Canada

Hi ginnu, Thanks for the info, my wife is also in the same case... I was thinking of applying for her COS since she is already here. Do you know how long COS process can take. Also do you suggest to go india and get her H1 Visa stamped or do COS and go to India whenever you want to and get it stamped then. Which one is less risky ?
