I'm now installed at a new home - but it is a brand new house and the cable guy found the internet/cable connectivity was damaged during construction so we won't have internet for another week or so.

I'll get on here when I can from a Starbucks but I'm not working until net week so until then I will be laying low....
 
I'll start a "moving to America" experience thread at some point with some practical info - although I've chosen an expensive place to live, so I think the numbers I quote will not be a typical experience.
 
I'm lost without internet....

By the way, I probably won't be connected in time for the next VB - so I hope someone will collate all the numbers as soon as they are available - which will probably be next week (possibly this Friday).

Thanks for all the well wishes. USA is great so far. Lots of differences to the UK but we knew what to expect. My daughter starts school tomorrow so that will be good for her. She is loving it so far, but it probably feels like a holiday, so real life will be a good test...
