Hi I never applied for the Adv Payroll & now I need to travel to India in august,though I have valid H1b till jan,2004 I dont want to travel with out AP as I heard that if my I-485 GETS APPROVED WHEN iAM ABROAD MY VISA GETS INVALID & DIFFICULT TO RE-ENTER US,Iam planning to ask my attorney on june 6 to apply for my AP ....can any one tell me how long the process will take after we file it.can a first timer apply online, which will be the earliest ?
it will be useful if I get AP by atleast july 30 ....if my attorney start working on AP from june 6 can I get it by july 30? or if any suggetions to obtain it earlier....I greatly appreciate ur advises

What are your RD/ND/FP dates?Are U close to getting approved?

Current Ap processing times are 30- 60 days.So I doubt whether U can it by July30 though sometimes U can be lucky.

my attorney & legal department of my company r saying my H1B will be valid irrespective of my I-485 approval,they r saying there is no need to have AP when I have valid H1B,I need to go to India in august .If my I-485 gets approved when Iam abroad will I have problem to re-enter ....my office legal dept is not giving permission for AP as they think a valid H1B will be valid irrespective of I-485 APPROVAL & my attorney also thinks the same.Is there any risk to leave country without AP or do I have any other means pls help me.
 
I filed AP on 03/11/2003, and received the recipt on 03/31/2003. Currently it is still pending. And as reported on 06/01/2003, VSC is processing AP cases with receipt notice date on 04/08/2003.

I applied my AP on 3/11 and i havent received yet. I wouldnt necessarily rely on the dates provided by VSC every month. Most are bogus.

So if u apply u'r AP now it may anyway take a while. So i dont think it will be an option. If u do it, better do it fast.
