guys, I've been going in and out of the US often with my AP. My AP expires on the 31st of March 03. The 2nd time I came back from Brazil, they added another piece of paper (A4 size) to my original AP and stamped a new validity date in it, November 28th 03 (that's exactly one year from the date they stamped that paper). They also stamped the same date on my passport where it says (paroled untill _______). Does this mean I don't have to apply for AP again till the end of 03 ? My original AP says a different date of expiration and this one says a different date !!

has this happenned to anybody else ??

oh! and...I just received my EAD extension receipt notice. Nov 26th 02. I guess it takes about 60 days for them to process and send it back. Original EAD expires March 31st 03 as well. Hope it comes through soon !!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

If you need to travel after the date of expiry printed over your original most recent AP issued by the VSC, then you will need a new AP. "Paroled until..." is good if you stay in the US and don't leave/re-enter after expiry date printed on original AP that was used as a basis to allow you in the US.

Best wishes,

really ? wait...

oh! I got it...so..I'm paroled into the US untill that date. But, obviously will not loose status since my EAD will be valid even after that till march 31st 04 (i.e assuming the extension comes through )...is that right ?

thanks

As long as you are in the US until and even beyond the "Paroled until..." date, your status is fine if your I-485 happens to be still pending at that time (irrespective of your EAD; EAD has to be current/recent in order for you to work). See http://www.murthy.com/ukadvpar.html
