Folks,
I am posting this question on behalf of one of my friends who has filed 485 in Feb 2002 (IND-IL-EB2) and has EAD. She did not apply for AP.
My Friend is planning on a sept travel date and wanted to check how long it takes for AP approval.
Also, are there other options to expedite AP approval.
Please let me know.

NSC is taking 3 months atmost for AP

Hi Chikki,
It depends on lotsa factors as u know,but rightnow looking at processing dates,NSC is taking around 3 months for AP approval.
Hope this helps.
 
The time frame can definitely vary. I checked the AVM and it claims APs are taking over 300 days. I filed in 12/4/02 and have yet to receive the approval. If you get it in 3 months, consider yourself fortunate.

I applied for my new AP last week and the receipt I received says that it is taking between 350 and 380 days for processing.

I spoke to an IIO before I applied and he said that it was taking between 60 and 90 days. Today I called my lawyer's office and they also gave me the same answer.

So I am not sure what is going on. I have to go home in December and I hope I will get my approval before that. Maybe I will get lucky and get my GC approval before my AP approval.
 
Just to update it is not really consistent.
I applied AP in April. RD 04/02 I got RFE for that 3 weeks back. I replied same day and within a week i got the AP approval. It took altogether 68 days.
 
Just to share my experience..

I applied my AP on Apr 4 2003 (RD), and it was approved on Jun 11 2003. I got a call from my laywer office to pick it up. So, it took a little over 2 months

Processing time on receipts

When you got your receipt what did it say for processing time on the receipts. Can you also tell me if it says Travel Document or Advance Parole on the receipt.

But it is encouraging to know that you both got it in about two months time. Thanks for your replies.
 
AP

I have filed AP with Nebraska and receipt date is April 8 2003.
Wonder when I will get it approved. Went to Detroit Local Office and they told me they can not issue a AP based on the receipt notices that have from NSC. They want to beg NSC to expide my application.

Please post which service centers were used with the AP approvals that are posted
 
Spoke to IIO and found that the processing times for AP are taking anytime between 4 mnths to .....

ND -- 03/29/2003 for renewal
-> No response yet from INS
 
Raj5, the receipt says..

Application for Travel Document, and it taking 969 to 999 days to process... which doesn't make sense at all.
