AP renewal question

Hi,

I Have AP valid till 12/02/2003.
I am planning to visit India during last week of September and
may stay beyond the expiry date of current AP.

1. How soon can I apply AP renewal?
2. If I apply for renewal and if it is not approved by the time I
leave the country (last week of Sept'03) is my case treated as
abandoned?
3. Can I use AP to re-enter if it is approved when you are
outside US?(If I arrange for someone to mail me the docs when
they are approved)
Please note that I will be having valid AP at the time or departure.

1. Today. There is nothing like AP renewal.
2.Generally Not. See other thread about applying for AP from out of USA
