My current AP expires today and I will not travel until the coming May. So it is ok for me to renew AP later this year, right? The AP renewal is different from EAD card which I must renew before the current one expires. Also, how lond does it take to get the new AP now? Thanks.

AP renewal problem

BTW, you don't have to renew your EAD before your current one expires (unless you are working on EAD) - if you are working on H/L, you can let your EAD expire and renew it when you want to (if ever)
Quick question.
My wife went to India and she will be back by March 1st week using AP.
Her current H4 stamp expired, so she will be using her AP to come back. But she is having valid H4 Visa until MARCH 16TH 2006 and i am applying for H4 extension in this week.
Her current AP is expiring on April 20th 2006 and already applied for the renewal.
Question is: When she is coming back i believe they will give you a I-94 till April 20th 2006 which is her AP expired date. After that she will have new AP until 2007 and new h4 till 2007....
Should we do any thing after her new I-94 (to be issued) expired on April with 2006????? Like renewing I-94 or some thing related????
I believe, my wife using her AP doesn't invalidate any thing on my end or her end.

When she enters using AP, her I-94 would be dated for exactly one year from her date of entry
(so if she enters on 03/05/2006, her I-94 would be till 03/04/2007).
You don't have to do anything to "extend" this I-94 - just do the usual stuff to maintain her H4 status.
