Hello everybody,
I am going to India using my AP and EAD.
My H1 stamping expired long back.
Just wanted to make sure that will not create any problem.
Does AP paper takes care of everything?

Thank you

AP takes care of your re-entry to the US (and being allowed to board of the plane going to the US). You might still need a transit visa for your connecting airport.

Thank you eltoro and unitednations,
unitednations I am not clear what you are saying, I have valid AP unitl Jan 2005.
We are planning only 2 weeks trip and back to states in Aug 2004.

I think he is saying that that person's AP expired while he was out of the country. Meanwhile his status was adjusted to a Permanent Resident, but that person has no means of returning to the US to pick up his green card. Did I understand that person's situation correctly?

I think you got it right.

I don't think you are going to have any problems.
I've traveled to India and back on AP with no problems. Take both copies with you.
enjoy your trip.

Hello tsc_ka_mara,

You should not face any problem at all. My H1B was expired a long time ago as well, and I have just visited India on AP.

Please refer to the following thread where I have posted my experiences.

in that thread, please refer to the sections posted by me, particulary at the end of page 2, where you will get the answers to your questions.
