HI Guys,

My AP is approved. but I see a RFE for my wife AP.
Please let me know what this RFE could be?

I also have REF on my Wife AP. We went send a copy of Marriage certificate and we got approved with in a week

Could be photos or marriage certificate.

Dont send original, copies should be fine.

you may have already submitted it, but hey if they want it just give it.
 
Send notarized copy if in doubt

I sent a notarized copy of the marriage certificate depending
on the country of marriage/registration.
 
1. Most likely it is marriage certificate
2. Don't even think of sending original unless INS ask for it specifically. In fact, I will be skeptical even in that case because the way INS works, there is no guarantee that they will send it back.
3. If your marriage certificate was in English, and if English is not the official language in your country, ask one of your friend to translate that in the native language. At the end, translator has to certify under outh that she/he has knowledge of both the languages and above is a true translation (to the best of her ability blah blah...). something like this....
4. No need for notory. If you have a lawyer, let him send it. Lawyer certified document is as good as original.
5. No need to worry. CSC send this RFE to almost everybody.
 
Hi all,

Any idea how many days it will take to receive RFE ( for my wife ). Its more than 10days up.

I didn't even receive my approval.

How long after RFE for AP?

Did anyone get wife's AP approved after responding to RFE for marriage certificate in CSC? How long did it take after RFE?

Marriage Certificates

Jitup,

If the marriage has been registered in the US then what is advised is to just go to the county where the marriage was registered and ask them for a marriage certificate, it costs about 13 $, for social security, etc. Notarized marriage certificates will not do. So play safe and get it from the county. Besides being almost the same cost they are definitely valid.

If the marriage has been registered in a different country, then I guess you will need to go for a notarized certificate if the certificate is in English.
