AP Lost in mail??

What should I do?

I haven\'t received my AP yet. VSc mailed it on 2/22/02. I talked to an IIO and the address is correct. The IIO said, that if I don\'t get it by this week, I might have to re-file. Anybody has similar experience?
 
Talk to the IIO and ask them to send a copy

Or if 60 days have passed since yoir RD you can go to the local INS and get yr AP
 
Probably you need to refile

My wife\'s AP also got lost. They will not send your a copy because that need
photos. You can go to local INS to refill one, it is much faster.
 
I had the same situation

This is what happened.

If you make a reques to INS, then INS will send you a duplicate AP notice. But, that notice will not have your photographs or anything.
So, it is absolutely useless.

My AP was lost in mail initially,but I found it in mail after 4 weeks or so. In the meantime, INS did send me a duplicate notice (which is no good) and also requested me to re-apply for the AP with new fees.

My suggestion is to wait for a week more and apply again (with fees) with a letter saying that the AP was lost in the mail.
 
If its not urgent - why dont you wait for couple of more weeks.

Our AP was approved on 2/4/02, I got my wife\'s AP on 2/8/02 but for my AP I had to wait 5 weeks. It was sent wrongly to a NY City based firm and they redirected it to me just last week.

I did talk to my Lawyer and they asked me to be patient. As I was not traveling immediately so I decided to wait for 5-6 weeks.

Thanks for responding. I guess I will wait for a few more weeks. Hopefully it will get redirected to me. If not, can I get one from the local INS office by reapplying?
