AP from Local Office?

Hello:

I have applied for mine and my wife's AP (Receipt date is Oct 30, 2006). If I dont get it within 90 days can I go to the Local Office and ask for a temporary (or interim) AP?

Also, I had read in earlier forums that people wrote letters to the Service Centers asking to expedite their EAD approvals. Is there anybody who had written a similar letter asking to expedite his AP approval?

-------------No, if you have emergency and show the fax of emergency they may give
