Recently re-entered U.S via Newyork. Basically all you have to show is your passport and the Advance Parole documentation. Mine was a multiple entry one. Stand in the line for visitors, etc.
Show the AP doc and passport along with the customs and immigration form(white one) given by the airlines, to the officer. He\'ll review them and then give it back. He\'ll also ask to go to another room. Take a seat and wait your turn. Another officer inside will review your docs, make copies. Then he\'ll attach the I-94 and write Paroled on that. If you\'re "good" he\'ll also say "Welcome back home Sir" with a wide grin
He gave back the AP doc fully back after making copies.
Even though I was having H1 status, I didn\'t have the H1 visa on the passport. The officer did not ask anything about it.
