AP approved while I was in India on an Emergency..Please help as I needto travel ASAP

Me & my wife had to travel to India on the 5th of this month coz of my father's sudden demise. I work on H1 & my wife is on H4. I received the AP & EAD approval while I am here in India. My lawyer has sent all the documents(AP, EAD Card, 485 receipt notice) to me. I don't have a valid H1 stamping on my passport. However, I have the H1 extended until 2010. I intend to use AP for travel. I have read in a lot of forums & its very clear that I can't use the AP for travel. But, here is my question.

1. Is there any way to get an exception becase of the circumstances on which I had to leave & still use the AP for travel?
2. If so, can I go the consulate here in Chennai & get it done?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Using Advanced Parole to enter in USA would not terminate your H1 Visa so do not worry.
 
My question is if I am allowed to use AP to enter USA. I just had an Appt with a lawyer & she said I can't enter the country unless I had the AP approved when I left the country. My AP was approved 5 days after I Left.

If the above statement is true, Is there a way for me to still use AP & enter the coountry instead of going for stamping.
 
I certain hope so. I just spoke to my lawyer & she says since this was an extreme emergency, they will be OK with it. She also says that my case was expedited because of her sending my father's death certificate. I also know of a friend of mine who was in the exact same situation & he was able to get in without any issue. I will travel on AP today & hope everything goes OK.

Lets keep the fingers crossed.
