AP application questions

Hi,
I use a lawyer to apply for I485 and EAD. Can I apply the AP by myself now?
I live in CA. My I485 got recently transfer from CA to NE. Where should apply for AP? NE?
My wife has also a pending I485 but now EAD and no visa. Can she applied for an AP? if she does get AP, can she travel by herself.
Finally, I known that the porcessing time may vary but I'd like to have rough idea eg. is 3 to 6-months seems to be realistic?
