AOS Pending and India Travel

Here is my situation. I have applied for AOS/EAD/AP for myself and my wife on July 18 2007.

Here is my wife's status.

- F1 Visa Stamp valid until June 2008
- Has EAD via F1-OPT valid until May 2008
- Received EAD as a result of my I-485
- Completed FP on 10/31/2007
- Received AP as a result of my I-485

Can my wife travel using the AP document that she has received as a result of my I-485 application ? I have heard that if you are on F1 and your AOS is applied, if you travel outside the country your AOS is deemed abandoned.
Is this true ?

Please let me know if you guys have any information.

You heard only half the story. If an F-1 holder files an AOS and travels outside the US without an approved AP, the AOS is abandoned. Your wife will be fine with AP; that's what it's there for.
