In late January, I got a notice from Arlington to pick up my EAD, which I promptly did. Have not heard anything further after that. However, as I have mentioned in one of my postings above, Sen. George Allen's office tells me that "people who send in all of their paperwork at once (i.e., as one package rather than single documents one at a time) do not get a receipt from Arlington at all," and that the fact that I got the EAD serves as proof that my case has been received and is being processed.
If you haven't heard a thing (including not receiving an EAD notice), I strongly suggest contacting Sen. Allen's office to see if they can submit an inquiry to USCIS on your behalf. The contact info is as follows:
Ms. Emily Evans
Office of Senator George Allen
2214 Rock Hill Road
Suite 100
Herndon, VA 20170
Phone: (703) 435-0039
Fax: (703) 435-3446
Best of luck to you - I'm sure everything will be fine, eventually.
