Ok, I had my interview at the Hartford office and it was about as painful as removing a bandage( slight pain ). It was not because of what the officer did, it was because we forgot one form I566. Anyway, so I had to run to Kinkos and give that to the officer.

That being said, the Stamp on the passport look like something anyone could manufacture in their basement. Is that really always the stamp that everyone gets ?

That being said, I had contemplated fire and brim stone scenario and the fact that the officer stamped my passport makes me ask this question, "Could the officer change his mind ?". I ask this question because I was told that when you first walk in for the interview, the officer does fingure print of your index fingure which goes on the "green card". He never did that for me ?

You are right. The stamp looks like your kid could have made a better one. USCIS is abolishing the process of stamping the I-551 on the passport to prevent fraud. Some old-school officers still follow the process and stamp the passport but the younger ones probably dont.

Once the officer puts the approved stamp on your application, that means he is convinced your case is genuine and is done with your case. I had exactly the same feeling after my interview (what if he changes his mind? what if he needs more information and my GC is delayed further? what if i am called for another interview). Being the pessimistic me, i definitely expected that i would be stuck in the FBI namecheck, but i was happy when I got cleared. Like they say "Being pessimistic helps. Either you are constantly proven right or you are genuinely surprised".

You should see your online status change soon and next you can expect your welcome letter in the mail. The plastic card will follow shortly.

The fingerprint and picture that are required for your GC were already taken when you went for your FP/Biometrics. The pic you had on your EAD would be used on your GC.

That is why is SO important to get a good sleep before the biometrics hehehe because you will be stuck with that picture for awhile

relaxe u all set, i got my interview last month at hartford and i got the stamp, actually i thought to my self what the f...k is this, it looks so fake and the officer told me i,ll get my green card soon,so i turn around and i ask the officer are u not gonna take an index and a picture for the green card? he told me they already have it in the system.guess what?? i got my green card in the mail after 7 days with the same picture that i had on the ead.,so relax u all set. good luck
