AOS Interview Reschedule

i have an AOS interview appointment next week at Harftord office. Unfortunately i will be out of the country on the date of the interview.

I called the CIS national customer service and made a request for reschedule on Feb 13.
I also sent a Fedex request letter to the Hartford office.

So far i have only received a letter from CIS stating the request has been received. I don;t have any information on whether the request is approved/denied. I called CIS and they have no information. No appointment is available at local office

What should i do?
1. Continue with my trip and assume the interview will be rescheduled?
2. Cancel my trip out of the country(this is very difficult but not impossible)

Please help.

thanks

I don't know how long you have waited for this interview, but it should be important to you, right  ? How come you did not changed your plans for this date knowing that you have THE interview ? The INS sent you the letter at least 2 months before the interview date... right ? Now, they will probably reschedule your interview but be prepared to wait a few more months. That's just my 2 cents...

What's your timeline? I just sent my forms in and my DO is Hartford so I'm always asking everyone this to see how long it's taking =)

I am not in any rush to get my GC, i can wait another 6 months if required.

My question was if i don;t hear from them before my interview date, will that mean my request for reschedule is denied and will my application be considered abandoned as a result of no show??

I have a similar question as put forth by nycbom. I am preparing to send the papers sometime this week or early next week and looking at the timeline it is most likely that the interview would be sometime in Oct-Nov (just an estimate). My husband and I have plans to visit his parents in India in Oct and are planning to buy the tickets around Apr-May. The question is, that if we have bought the tickets and the interview does happen to fall between the period while we are away... what are the options :(? Cancelling the tickets could be expensive and it would also disappoint a lot of people - including us... however we don't wanna wait for too much longer either. Has anyone else been in such a situation? Do they really delay it by months if we ask for a reschedule? Any idea/estimate on how much would the interview be delayed if rescheduled? Thanks for your time.
