Hi everybody,

I have situtation here if anyone could help/suggest.

I came here on F1 and while i was going to school and was within my status, got married to a US citizen. Filed 130 and 485 in Sept 2004, got an interview call for Dec. 2004. Just a few days before the interview, got a letter stating that interview has been CANCELLED due to some unforseen circumstances. Tried calling USCIS but they had no answer.

Started waiting for another interview call which came in April 2005 and interview appointment was for December 2005. As a matter of fact December 12, 2005. And once again we received a letter on December 08 stating the same bullshit i.e. " interview CANCELLED due to some unforseen circumstances".

We are getting frustrated and dont know what is going on and what to do.

If anybody had any such experience or insight into it. plz enlighten us.

thanks

your situation doesn't add up compared to the experiences of others...is it possible to get an interview date over 6 months before the time?i think you should find a way to investigate what is really going on with your application..this is weird...

I remember a post here mentioned that they saw on the USCIS website their interview had been canceled, but went to the interview anyway. The interview proceeded smoothly from there. To date they still didn't know why the website showed the interview as having been canceled.

Next time you might want to go in anyway?

I remember that post too. It was an appointment cancellation that appeared in case status information, on the Internet, but that person didn’t actually get anything (real cancellation notice) in a mail. So he went to the interview, got approved for GC and when asked about the on-line message they asked :”what message?...” . It was just an error….

Getting an actual, official cancellation notice from MSC is different. I got one of those too, back in September. And just like Optimum’s mine says “due to unforeseen circumstances….”
I went to my DO week before the scheduled interview appointment and asked about it. They told me that interview notices come from MSC, they are the one who processes the applications and sends the files out to DOs, they are the one, who schedules appointments and sends letters and they are the one who cancels them if they want to.
My filed never reached my local DO, it got transferred to the regional SC instead, so they couldn’t tell me anything more.

Optimum, Your local N.Y. DO is still working on cases filed in 2003 (if you believe those processing dates updates), so maybe, and I am just guessing here, you got first interview notice too soon, by some mistake, before your case was ready to be adjusted. Somebody discovered that mistake and canceled the interview.
But the second cancellation….. I have no clue why on world would they toss and play with your file like that. Calling them won’t help much, since customer service people see the same message on line as you do and they will tell you to wait until N.Y. DO changes processing dates close to your ND. I would suggest you send a certified letter to MSC and ask them your questions.
Good luck and please post your updates when you get any.
Jane,
